Al-Badr Schools Website & CMS
The public website for a multi-campus school group, with a custom CMS covering admissions enquiries, news, events, galleries, downloads and a careers portal.
A school website is not a brochure. It is the first place a prospective parent looks, the channel admissions enquiries arrive through, and the noticeboard for announcements, events and results — all of which change constantly during a school year.
If updating any of that requires a developer, it stops happening. Announcements go stale, event listings sit months out of date, and the admissions form becomes an email address that nobody tracks properly.
The group also runs several campuses, each with its own facilities and details, and needed a site that presented them individually without becoming several separate websites to maintain.
A public website built on a custom content management system, designed so school staff run it without technical help. It is a separate application from the school management system, focused on the public-facing side.
Admissions
An online admissions enquiry form issuing each applicant a reference number on submission, with enquiries landing in the admin where staff add internal follow-up notes and track progress.
School content
Campuses with their own facility listings, academic programmes as individual pages, news posts with categories, announcements, events, and an achievements section — plus leadership and trustee profiles with dedicated pages for governance transparency.
Media and documents
Photo galleries organised into albums, and a downloads section serving prospectuses, forms and policy documents through a managed file route rather than loose public links.
Careers
Published vacancies with individual listings and an online application form, so teaching and support applications arrive as structured records instead of unsorted email attachments.
Engagement and discovery
Contact messaging, newsletter subscriptions, testimonials, FAQs, a configurable homepage with slider and site statistics, site-wide search, and a generated XML sitemap alongside a human-readable one.
Administration and security
An admin covering every content type above, with user accounts protected by custom time-based two-factor authentication — QR-code enrolment and trusted-device remembering, built in-house rather than pulled from a package.
School staff publish news, events, announcements, galleries, vacancies and documents themselves, and every campus, programme, leader and trustee has its own page managed from the same admin.
Admissions enquiries and job applications arrive as tracked records with reference numbers and follow-up notes, rather than as email that has to be managed by hand.
